This website is designed to be a source of local Pittsfield news and information. From what your elected officials are doing and how they are spending your taxdollars, to what is happening around town that you might like to know about.
Do you have opinions that you would like to share with everyone? This is the place to do that. On the “Your Letters” page, you can post your comments (letters) for everyone to see. No word limits, no waiting for a week. Just write your letter and click the “submit” button and it will appear on the site almost instantly. Your letters will NEVER be edited in any way. Personal threats, sexual content, or vulgarity will not be posted. Other than that, speak your mind on any subject you wish. A site moderator will have to approve your letter before it will appear on the site. It will normally only take an hour or so for you letter to appear. This is ONLY done to prevent “spam” from being posted to this site and to ensure that the above mentioned forbidden content does not appear here. You may use your real name if you wish, or you can simply use a nickname. That choice is yours. Although there is a place to enter your email, it is not required and even if you include it, it will not appear in your letter unless you place it in the “body” of your letter. Letters that do not contain a name or nickname will be signed “Anonymous”.
Also on this site, you will see an “Editorial” page. This is where I will place my opinions from time to time on matters that I feel are important to everyone in town. Keep in mind that these are MY opinions and I fully understand that not everyone is going to agree with them, and I fully respect that. Please feel free to respond to them in the “Your Letters” page, or by sending me an email personally.
As you can imagine, it takes a lot of time to maintain this site and to keep it up to date and accurate. While I enjoy my work on this site, and take what I do seriously, I have to make a living like everyone else. You will notice that this site is completely FREE and you won’t see any sponsor ads other than Suncook Valley Chandlers, which is my company. There are residents and businesses that want to support this site without having their names listed here. In my opinion, this is how it should be and it is how it will remain. If you find this site interesting and want to see it continue be a service to you and the rest of the community, I would certainly welcome any and all donations large or small to help me keep this going.
